The NHL Playoffs kicked off last night. We know you followed everything that happened super closely, but we’ll go ahead and recap it again for those who may have missed SportsCenter this morning. We hear they almost showed a hockey highlight.

The Penguins decimated the Flyers, 4-1. To show how classy they are as a team, Philly racked up 21 minutes of penalties in the final 30 seconds of the game. 5 players actually had to sleep in the box.

In other good news, the Rangers took down Alexander “GREATEST HOCKEY PLAYER EVER TO PLAY IN THE WORLD I SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE I BECAME A CAPS FAN IN 2007” Oveckin and the Washington Capitals. The Caps look to be in good shape to continue their tradition of first round oustings.

Vancouver beat St. Louis 2-1, showing that Canadian teams may actually be relevant this year*.

Finally, in their usual boring fashion, the Devils beat Carolina. I hate the Devils, but at least they are something respectable in Jersey.

Some good games tonight, including the beginning of the mondo-upset of the #1 seeded Bruins*.
