Game 11: NC State Predictions

We must say, last week’s predictions were pretty spot on. There were a record number of close misses.

We’re tempted to give the win to our Maryland friend Barry who predicted embarrassment, but that was a bit easy.

The real winner is the CMU Football Analyst. He crunched some numbers, got on his protractor, and consulted some Asian guys to come up with his 35 - 9 prediction. Just one point off!!

To commemorate such geekiness, there was really only one thing we could get you…

On to this week's picks. All scores come with a VT victory, because that’s what we do.

C Gally: 42 – 12, Weaver puts all of the NC State fans on the field, right behind our bench.

Poppa Gally: NC ST……..will not score!!! VT 35 – NCST 0!!!! A blocked kick and a season record low of defense < 100 yds!!!

DiP: 34-13 good guys

Wright: VT 34-17. Russell Wilson can throw the ball, but he hasn't faced our secondary yet.

Maniak: 27-12

The Northerner: VT 34 NCST 10.  We will score 28 points in one half and 6 in the other.  Why?  Because Stinespring says “Fuck balance.”, that’s why.

B-Dubs: NC State isn't much better than Maryland.  Ryan Williams tops 150 yards again and rumbles in for at least one score while Tyrod throws for around 210 and another couple TDs.  I think our defense finally gets a pick 6 and Matt Waldron will kick two field goals.  Hokies win 34-3.

The CMU Football Analyst: 20 - 17 vt in a close, ugly, big ten-esque [Editor's note: hehe] game.

Meet Bag: 37-13... we destroy them but give a few pity points...

G Way: 49-10 VT. Scoring bonanza! Ryan Williams gets 2 TDs, Tyrod 1, the D 1, and JuJu gets to throw at least 5 passes.

The Bull: 24 - 17 Hokies win.  I think this game will be closer than people think.

Bobby the Ginger: 41-21 Hokies.  This game is the last time Ed Wang will whiff on a block in Lane Stadium. Tyrod rejoices.

J-McB: VT 42 NCST 10. Tyrod has another big day with at least 1 rushing TD and throws nearly 300 yards, Ryan Williams reels off one of his biggest games and brings in at least 3 rushing TDs. And, at least 1 blocked kick.

Per usual, we don’t actually know anyone that went to, roots for, or knows of NC State. We’ll assume their prediction includes the word “drubbing” multiple times.

Boone...ohhhhhh that's what everyone in the stands yells when that guy with an 8 on his jersey gets the ball. I always wondered who that underused player on the field was. (came through loud and clear on espn360 last week. at an away game. fantastic.)
