CGally takes the team associated with his beloved baseball team, and so will I. However, my hate towards Boston College has nothing to do with the Red Sox. It has everything to do with them being terrible.

I used to have no reason to hate BC. Sure they were in our conference and everything, but we always owned them and they were kinda like your friend's annoying little brother who just tagged along with the cooler older guys like VT and Miami (however, Miami is the asshole who gets in trouble just for attention because his parents didn't love him enough. You know, that guy you wouldn't be friends with if you met him later in life, but you grew up together so you're kinda all-in at this point). Then October 25, 2007 happened and my life would be changed forever.
It was raining. It had been raining all day. We were at home. In the rain. It was a Thursday night game. We were winning. Then Matt "Matty Ice" Ryan* threw a last second touchdown to end the game. I have never hated someone or something so much in my entire life. Hours of my day in the rain wasted. Matty Ice** became a hero and every sportscaster in America immediately latched their mouth to his penis for the rest of the season. Well, of course, until the ACC Championship game. You know, the game that actually mattered. But I'm not here to gloat.
*Stupidest nickname ever.

Boston College really got me that day. I vowed never to give them the benefit of the doubt ever again. We let them tag along with us forever, and then they come up and pull this crap? Oh helllllll no. NEVER AGAIN.
BC really doesn't have much going for itself, save for the fact that it's located in Massachusetts. But that's it. It's a bunch of fakers, in my opinion.*** I mean look at the picture of the stadium from the 2007 ACC Championship Game:
The right side is the VT half. All that orange is the mark of true fans. The left side is the BC side. Apparently, they didn't get the invite. And may I remind you, this is the same season as the aforementioned heartbreaking incident. They had Matty Ice! They could get to a BCS game! They could have been a contender! The game was tied, so can't say people were leaving because BC had already lost it. But their fans couldn't care less. Way to go fakers. Hell the team was ranked 11. Do the Eagles need to be ranked in the top two to get some fans at their games? I mean there are crappy fanbases and there are crappy fanbases. This one goes beyond the latter. Superfans my ass.
***OK, Matt Ryan is pretty good in the NFL, and Mark Herzlich seems like a tough piece of leather, but THAT'S IT. Doug Flutie had ONE good play ever. No hyperbole.
Boston College needs to get back to who they really are: a mediocre football team that only sniffs the potential for a decent season. They made a huge step last year by starting the hilariously deficient Dave Shinskie behind center. Though I guess he wasn't that bad with his 14 INT/51.7% efficiency on the year or his 1 for 12 with 2 INT stats against us. Yes, that's right. Fun fact analysis: He made more completions to the opposing team than to his own. It's a good move. But it's not enough. Marscovetra seems like a decent replacement for Shinskie, so it will be tough to get a repeat of those numbers this yea... what's that? Shinskie is STILL slated to be the starter? Oh BC, you so crazy. Well done, sirs.
Lucky for BC, I will be in the center of the universe on September 25th this year (Blacksburg) and thus will not be able to attend the laughfest that will be your sad attempt at a win against us at your home stadium. But I will be with plenty of my fellow Hokies drinking some "Defensive Coordinators"**** and having a grand old time watching RMFW and Big Daddy Darren run through you like dairy through my colon. It shall be a blast.
