For the Canadians, at least. Stupid Crosby. But, we did end up winning the overall medal count. Canada got the most gold medals, though, which makes sense, because, you know, they never won a gold medal on their home soil in the Olympics.
So now that the Olympics are over for the next two years, let's review the best parts of the games for the Americans:
- Shaun White slamming the competition in the halfpipe.
- Lindsey Vonn winning the first gold medal in the women's downhill.
- The men winning the first Nordic Combined gold (and first NC medal ever) for the US.
- Seth Wescott defending his gold in the snowboard cross.
- The "Night Train" winning the gold in men's 4-man bobsleigh for the first time in over 60 years.
- Apolo Ohno getting his 8th medal, making him the most decorated American winter Olympian ever. (and sidenote on this guy, yes he's very good at what he does, but seriously, if you listen to him, it's never been his fault he's lost a race. Always blames someone else. You got DQed because the judge was Canadian? Sure dude. You got DQed because you fucking pushed the guy. Man up and admit your faults. Take the loss like a man. Don't represent America like a whiny little bitch.)
- And finally, the US winning the winter medal count for the first time since Lake Placid, and getting the most medals ever in a winter Olmpics by one country.
(If I missed any, leave your suggestions in the comment section)
Congratulations to the Canadians for winning hockey gold, because like Bob Costas said, this could most likely be the biggest sports moment in the history of Canadian sports. We'll let you have this one, guys.
But, in the end, the same voices are heard:
USA USA USA!
